Established in March of 2005, the NextGen Institute, a part of the Joint Program and Development Office, is managed by the Institute Management Council (IMC), which oversees the policy, recommendations, and products of the NextGen Institute. NASAO President and CEO Henry Ogrodzinski is a member-at-large of the IMC. NASAO entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the FAA in 2007 to satisfy the RTCA NextGen Mid-Term Implementation Task Force call for government and industry to work collaboratively on NextGen. In this role, NASAO helps define how government organizations at the state level might more actively help encourage and advance NextGen implementation.
