NASAO RESOURCES
NASAO has gathered resources useful in understanding the national air transportation system and the role the states play in ensuring all Americans enjoy a safe, efficient and secure system. These documents and publications are searchable within the library and available for download.
STATE AVIATION SYSTEM PLAN LIBRARY
Airports, aviation and aviation-related industries play a significant role in the economic success of American communities. Each state develops a state aviation system plan that provides a framework for the preservation and enhancement of a system of public-use airports adequate to meet current and future aviation needs of the state. Go to the State System Plan library.
Recognizing the importance of general aviation airports to the nation and the need to better define their role in the national air transportation system, FAA conducted an 18-month comprehensive study of general aviation airports across the country. From its inception, NASAO was actively involved in this first-of-its-kind study to understand and define the roles of FA airports in communities and the air transportation system. The results of the study are published in the report General Aviation Airports: A National Asset and available in the State System Plan Library.
ECONOMIC IMPACT LIBRARY
Aviation has become an integral part of the U.S. economy. It is a key catalyst for economic growth and has a profound influence on the quality of life of people across the country. It integrates the world economy and promotes the exchange of people, products, investment and ideas. The library contains a variety of reports defining the economic impact of aviation for the nation, states, and communities. Go to the Economic Impact library.
STATE PROCLAMATION LIBRARY

GOVERNMENT USE OF AIRCRAFT
Government Use of Aircraft: A Taxpayer Value Perspective – shows local, state and federal government use of aircraft increases operational efficiency and provides significant taxpayer value. The study, the third in a series completed by NEXA Advisors, LLC, finds “government use of aircraft provides taxpayer value by providing public safety and security, supporting more efficient, effective government, protecting public health and welfare, facilitating economic growth, improving tax dollar efficiency, promoting good government relations, and improving compliance.” A special thanks to all NASAO members who provided an understanding of how state governments use aircraft, including excerpts from numerous state officials who utilize government aviation in the conduct of their business.
